West Branch Pond Camps 2019

Last Friday (March 1, 2019), 16 of us arrived to a place from another time. Past Greenville and Moosehead Lake, we drove 10 miles down a narrow, snow-covered road to this paradise. We had blue sky days and clear sky nights. We cozied in our rustic cabins stoking the fire through the night to keep the fires burning (well, some of us did and I thank them for keeping the cabin toasty).
We enjoyed cross country skiing on groomed trails, snowshoeing on the lake, reading and napping in the cabins and a snow shoe traverse across the beautiful mountain with views of Mt. Katahdin. Owner Eric and his uncle Chuck prepared quite the spread of wonderful food for breakfast and dinner and had fixings available to us to pack a lunch to enjoy on the trail or in our cozy cabins. We lucked out with the weather, we had plenty of sun, no wind and lots of beautiful snow to enjoy! There is something for everyone and we took advantage of it all. My cheeks still hurt from smiling all day! It was great to be able to spend so much time together chatting and enjoying the simplicity of it all. No WiFi but plenty to do, or not! Such a treat.
