Scarborough Cliff Walk

Yesterday’s walk at the Scarborough Cliff Walk was both beautiful and fun. We started at Ferry Beach, walked the Cliff Walk and ended on Jordan’s Beach (also known as Scarborough Beach). I’m not sure who enjoyed it more — the humans or the dogs. The morning started off a bit chilly, but we were well bundled.
Despite the earlier cold temps, when we stopped for our mid-walk hot chocolate, we were warm enough to unzip our jackets, take off our mittens and enjoy the unexpected sunshine.
Since going on this walk, I can’t get the thought out of my mind about how fortunate I am to live in this splendid state. In the middle of winter I can walk at the ocean’s edge and sip hot chocolate while taking in the same view that Winslow Homer did in the late 1800s.
I hope you are all having a lovely and fun weekend. I look forward to more adventuring with each of you, and hopefully on days just as beautiful as this one.
Speaking of more adventures, hold the weekend of August 20/21 for our overnight kayak to an island in Muscongus Bay. Hard to imagine a warm summer weekend on this 0° night. Let’s not rush winter away, but it’s always fun to think of what’s next.
Happy adventuring,
