Guidelines for Hiking, Walking, & Adventuring with Dogs
Well-behaved dogs are generally welcome on all walking and hiking LAC adventures where dogs are allowed on the trails. It is part of your responsibility to check the rules for each park/preserve and that the difficulty level is suited for your dog, but LAC Guides will ultimately decide if dogs are included on an adventure. Please be sure to pick up after your dog (follow Leave No Trace principles) and bring plenty of extra water.
- Keep your dog under control at all times. She should always be within ear-shot.
- Make sure your dog is trail-worthy. Trail-worthy means hikes easily with a loose lead, abide by voice command, is not aggressive or protective of you, or excessively barks.
- Don’t try to manage more than one dog (for your own sake!)
- Protect the wildlife.
