Really, Gillian?
Adventure February 18, 2024Hi all:
Well, that was a super-quick writing break. When walking the dogs in recent days, I would think of something I wanted to write down and share with you so here I am, back in your in-box, albeit with a twist and a schedule shift. I’ve thought it over, reviewed it with my gut (intuition) and this feels right. Although not all my past emails held tight to the adventure theme, that was at the core. I’m moving away from that singular, overarching theme and will delve into a wider array of topics although adventure will still play a prominent role. And, instead of a weekly email, I’ll write a monthly note. Of course, unsubscribe if this doesn’t appeal (I’ll be a wee bit sad to lose you though).
I’m also pulling back on listing community adventures. I’ve shared my resources and you all are expert Googlers so you got that. If something special comes along, I’ll post it and I’m always happy to promote interesting links, events, fund-raisers, etc. that are generated from this LAC group. I’d like to host the random community adventure if something intrigues me and the timing is right. (I’ve been thinking about a field trip to Vista of Maine for a hike and wine/cider sampling.)
Adventure is important to me; that hasn’t shifted, but I’m curious about other parts of life. As I move into my next trip around the sun, there’s much to explore, feel into, and process. I turn 51 on Saturday and I’ve had a heck of year. I’m now divorced, living solo in a home I love (not quite solo, I guess – Fannie and Alfredo keep me company/drive me insane), dealing with a body that doesn’t work quite as it did 10 years ago, and figuring out what’s really important to me and how to make these next 50 years matter and discover where the flourish is. If you are 30 or 70, you’re most likely facing similar issues (very few bodies work as well as they did 10 years ago!). Let’s dip into this adventure together, say these things out loud, and find beauty, strength, and compassion in our shared experiences.
As a p.s., thank you for your lovely emails after I sent my last note on 12/31. I’m heartened to see the vibrancy of and interest in this community. I haven’t yet settled on a long-term LAC plan; this is the interim stage and we’ll see where it goes.
Happy adventuring,
